An hours’ travel from the city proper is this island baranggay of Olotayan. This island is blessed with a coarse white sand beach and serene shores that fits everyone’s desire for a private beach. One of the sites to see in Roxas City is Baybay Beach. It is just three kilometers away from the city circle. The place is a favorite weekend spot for the local populace and those coming from nearby towns and provinces. Considered a “must not miss” spot in Roxas City, Baybay beach is ideal for swimming, snorkeling, and kayaking. It has a seven-kilometer stretch of sugar-fine, glittery, ebony sand. The water sometimes washes up to the shore a substance known as “margaha” to the locals, which is fine iron particles that an ordinary magnet can pick up and collect!

Kasadyahan sa Capiz especially Sinadya sa Halaran Festival the joint festival of the City of Roxas and the Province of CapizIt is celebrated every first weekend of December in commemoration of the Feast of the Virgin of the Immaculate Concepcion who also happens to be the patroness of the City of Roxas have an Kasadyahan sa Capiz. It is a mixed festival in that it is celebrated for both cultural and religious reasons. Sinadya sa Halaran boasts of colorful activities like the grand parade of festivals, the fluvial parade, the lighted river floaters. There is also the traditional seafood festival and the grand pyrotechnic display. The highlights of the celebration are the Dancing Parade, ”Higantes”, Fluvial Parade, Fireworks display, Mutya sa Halaran beauty pageant, Coronation of the Fiesta Queen, and Agri-Aqua Trade Fair.

Kasadyahan sa Capiz! Check out the interesting finds in the heritage town of Panay, CapizPanay follows the typical Spanish prime establishments, and the residence of prominent families surround  the town plaza. The best thing about this set up most attractions are within grid. Santa Monica Parish Church, or the Panay Church, was reconstructed to withstand the fiercest wrath of Mother Nature. With 3-meter thick walls made of coral stones, the massive baroque church was built like a fortress to last a lifetime. Since the 1774 reconstruction, Panay Church is one of the country’s oldest churches which has survived wars, typhoons, and earthquakes. Adjacent to the Panay Church was a museum which houses church’s artifacts, memorabilia, and relics. Displayed outside the building was a fascinating gigantic bell which turned out to be the replica of the one on the church’s five-storey belfry. Panay treasures the heaviest and largest Catholic Church bell in Asia called Dakong Lingganay which locally translates to, "Big Bell”.  The Spanish conquistadores have left a huge footprint in the Panay. Within the thick walls of Panay Church dwells a colorful history of the town and its people. Many have heard the thundering roar of the mighty bell. Many soldiers have shed blood and fallen in its soils both our fellowmen and invaders. Panay has faced both triumph and defeat. For centuries, the heritage capital of Capiz treasures a rich history being among the oldest and one of the first established towns in our country, this is why Panay, Capiz is worth the visit.
